Team_Bammann new top ranking

Team_Bammann has just made it to its new highest ever ranking, of 579. Tom’s uni computer is no longer cranking results, which is a bummer considering it’s a hyperthreaded 3GHz P4. Until more processing power is added Team_Bammann will be struggling to increase its ranking.

Recently Mike’s office buddy Kris has been trying to persuade us to move our CPU efforts over to BBC’s Climate Change Experiment. This is something to be discussed between Team_Bammann members over the next few weeks.

I might get in on this again. 1.53ghz, 500 ram, not much but an addition.

I think the idea of doing a computer climate change experiment is a little odd. At the momment the world has embarked on the biggest, most dangerous, and possibly the most costly experiment ever anyway, we are doing climate change for real. We already know what’s happening, half the increase in global warming is due to mankind. Why do we need a bunch of computers to show this for us?

Our time would be better spent doing things that nature can’t do, like factoring massive numbers in the saerch for primes.
