Photos from Jordan & Vi’s wedding

Jordan and Vi's Wedding

At long last, I’ve finally sorted, fixed, and uploaded some photos from Jordan & Vi’s wedding. (Select the thumbnail to open the gallery.)

The things I loved most about the wedding were (in no particular order):

  • Vi’s dress – so eye catching!
  • The groom and best man’s bow-ties. Bow-ties are cool!
  • The lighting – it turned an old warehousey type building into an amazing atmosphere
  • The longest tables I’ve ever seen.  When walking into the building, they had impact.
  • The fluoro’s that fell down during the groomsmans speech.  It was funny, and symbolic that it was put together with the personal ‘home made’ touch, made even funnier (at least for me) by it happening whilst Ben is trying to give his speech.  I don’t know, something about Ben and things falling apart, it reminds me of the time he was showing me how proud he was of his Western Cowboy swing doors that separated his back door area from his kitchen, and stepping through them with his cowboy gun fingers, flinging the doors open which then smashed a crystal glass.
  • The floral arrangements for the long tables were stunning, and the tables were set so beautifully.
  • The ‘feature corner’ with the famous, prized, and beloved Volksie, and listening to the Best Man tell the story of ‘the other woman in his life’ (had me worried for a minute).
  • Jordan & Vi making up their wedding dance on the spot – and all night I thought it was completely scripted, it looked so perfect!
  • Savvy (Jordan’s nephew) dancing with so much energy after drinking Coca-Cola.
  • Matt really showing Anna how to dance – can you teach Morv and I how to dance through one song? (I’m serious!)
  • Being asked to read “When you know what you want” by You Am I in the ceremony – it was a real honour.

I hope Tim Rogers doesn’t mind if I post the adoption of “When you know what you want” from the album called Deliverance that I read at the ceremony:

When you know what you want
The wind’s at your back, yeh, and time’s your friend
It’ll push you out like the tide, drag you in
And kiss you at the end

When you know what you want
You keep your head up, yeh, you look at the sun
You stop hiding beneath fringes, yeh
The heat it just lingers on and on

Aah – haah

Just keep that voice on your shoulder
That steers you out of the corners
That night won’t swallow you up
When you know, when you know what you want

When your mind’s made up
You wake up with a jump, yeh, your shoulders can drop
You outrun the demons and the cramps
You just leave ‘em chokin’ in your dust

And when you fall down exhausted
You sleep, you don’t force the day to cave in
Sleep’s there to hug you, caress and to drug you
On it you can depend

So keep that voice on your shoulder
That steers you out of the corners
That night won’t swallow you up
When you know, when you know what you want

When you know what you want
The wind’s at your back, yeh, and time’s your friend
It’ll push you out like the tide, drag you in
And kiss you at the end

When you know
what you want
