Ben whipped me running around the Corporate Cup 7km loop around the River Torrens tonight, and David nearly did too. I was surprised that David didn’t have a surprise sprint finish left in him like he normally does. I took 33 minutes to do the 7km loop, which is a fair bit less than a couple of years ago when I ran it consistently under 30 minutes. Matt and Adam D also ran, and Anna made a guest appearance.

running club in Ferguson Square
Tuesday night was the first Running Club that Morven organised. She organised it for Tuesday because it was her day off for the week, and organised to meet at Ferguson Square, in Toorak Gardens. Unfortunately a few people can’t make Tuesdays, and others bailed because of the weather. Ben had a corky from basketball, and Tom foolishly wore the running shorts that make him chafe. Needless to say, it was a short run. One highlight of the run was seeing Ben run through a Ferguson Square spider web after I yelled out “STOP!!!” about five times (he thought I was joking). The other highlight was seeing Ben run through a second spider web. It was a bit chilly, and constant drizzle, although perfect temperature for a good run. We will have to meet up in Ferguson Square another time.
So, who’s coming next week?

my first triathlon event
This morning I entered my first triathlon event, although I only did the running leg. It was the Nissan BRW Corporate triathlon at West Lakes, and I did it with a team from work. I haven’t run that short and that hard for a long time, and fell slightly short of my goal to average 15 km/h. (I got 14.7 km/h for the 3.56 km).
